A quarter of a century ago, PXS was founded! We never could have come this far without our team, loyal partners and friends. This year, we’ll ask them how they experienced the past 25 years of telecom. Here’s the story of Jan Mooijman, our CEO.

What is a significant number for you, and why?

That would be 50, the number of countries we expect to serve with our numbering services in our 25th anniversary year. That's only a stepping stone, as we have the products and capabilities to double that number in years to come.

Looking back, what memorable moment of working with PXS stands out?

Acquiring PXS at the end of 2019. By then, the company had already gained significant experience and a good reputation – both nationally and internationally. Over the past years we invested in our team, products and basically all other parts of the company, accelerating our international presence and growth to stand as the global market leader today.

In your view, what hasn't changed at all in telecom over the past 25 years?

The fact that telecom (or better, ICT) remains a critical part of everybody's life and business. With our products, and especially our number portability solutions, we want to contribute to a more competitive telecom market. In the countries that we serve, everyone should have access to better services at lower prices.

 What are your expectations of the future of telecom?

The telecom and ICT industry will continue to see further consolidation and specialization. For PXS, that means specializing in numbering services, providing highly configurable products built on industry best practices and modern, yet proven technology. This paradigm shift enables us to replace existing custom-built legacy systems with future-proof and cost-effective solutions.

What’s your favorite telecom related photo from the past 25 years?

It was a true highlight to visit the conference of CANTO last year, the Caribbean telecom association. As you can see in the photo below, I'm a proud member of the CANTO family!
