Last year PortingXS was awarded the assignment to service the National Directory Database for the Republic of Ireland. After a period of development, testing and implementation together with all the stakeholders on 2 September 2 the National Directory Database services for Ireland went live!
The NDD is a record of all subscribers of publicly available telephone services in Ireland, including those with fixed, personal and mobile numbers who have not refused to be included in that record. The function of the NDD is primarily to facilitate the compilation of and access to information for telephone directories and directory enquiry services. The NDD also contains the preference of subscribers in relation to the receipt of unsolicited marketing communications.
PortingXS has developed a best-of-both-worlds solution: on the one hand allowing the undertakings providing the information towards the NDD to have their feeds remain 100% the same, while on the other hand granting users of the NDD direct, safe and secure access to the data through SFTP. Enabling faster implementation of accurate data and allowing an even further reduction in unwanted communication.
