This process was initiated by the CCK, the Regulator of Kenya. The Mobile operators were involved from the start of the project. The operators involved in the process were:

- Safaricom
- Airtel
- Orange,
- Essar YU
Project was running from July until the going live date of April 1st 2010.
We have implemented a Central Reference Database with inter-operator communications. The system implemented was a “standard” PortingXS solution, with a 4 message process for an inport and SMS functionality for validation.
Since our technical solution is just part of the implementation, an early commitment of the Operators is essential. Because of the late involvement of the Operators in Kenya, the introduction was delayed from December 2011 till April 2012.
Operators can reduce costs to a minimum by keeping track of their devices and their customers.
The Number Portability solution uses SMS messages for validation purposes allowing for safe and secure process handling.
